Optimistic Outlook On Cost Of Renewable Energy

The relatively high cost of renewable energy is what's keeping us dependent on dirty-and dirt cheap-coal power. I mean, putting out $40,000 for something that's not a necessity isn't too appealing to most Americans right now.

But what if solar and wind were as cheap to harness for energy production as coal? There would be very little argument left against a wholesale shift to renewables (regardless of how much kicking and screaming the coal industry would undoubtedly do).

That time may not be too far off, according to a report delivered by Vice President Joe Biden on the future of innovation in America . The report covers transportation and medicine, as well as renewable energy.
